The settlement is situated in Southwestern Bulgaria, surrounded by the forests of Strandja and Sakar Mountains. The area is suitable for mountain tourism. Nearby there is a river and a fishing dam. The mineral springs in the village have similar qualities as those in Karlovy Vary Thermal Baths in the Cheah Republic. Here is a spring whose water heals all kinds of skin diseases. The legend states that in the past a flock of sheep has been sickened by a scab and the Sheppard decided to immerse them in the spring in the middle of the field. The animals got healed in a few days. Nowadays the spring is shaped like a pool, with a small chapel and a place to relax. About 3 km away from the village there is an incredible hunting lodge, situated in a picturesque area with virgin forest and much water. The mountain history is centuries old. The region is rich in Thracian sanctuaries, burial mounds and sacred springs. In Strandzha Mountain there are more than 50 Thracian strongholds from the 1st century BC, from Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Strandja Nature Park is the largest protected area in Bulgaria. There are five wildlife reserves with flora in the area. The climate is temperate continental with cool summers and mild winters. The area is not polluted, and far away from industrial enterprises.
