The town of Kirchen (Sieg) is a recognised climatic health resort and lies in the Siegtal valley at the foot of the Westerwald forest on the border with North Rhine-Westphalia. Probably the best known natural sight is the Druidenstein, a basalt cone that rises to around 450 metres. Above the Sieg is the Freusburg on a mountain spur. It has been used as a youth hostel since 1927 and has retained the charm of this special location ever since. You can enjoy beautiful views from the Ottoturm tower. In and around churches there are a multitude of hiking, cycling and Nordic walking trails of various degrees of difficulty. All educational offers, care possibilities and school types are available in the city area. You can reach the city by car via the B62, which will take you to Siegen within approx. 20 minutes. The A45 runs approx. 15 kilometres northeast of churches.
