Property in St Lucia will only make you want to stay
Holidays homes and new homes are the typical kind of residential property you expect in St Lucia, but land, commercial property and developments are equally widespread. The worst part? Once you’ve had a brief glimpse of property in St Lucia, you’ll want to stay for longer.
St Lucia is situated north/northeast of the region of E Vincent, south west of Barbados and south of Martinique. It covers an area of 617 km2 and has a total number of inhabitants that’s roughly 174,000.
The inhabitants are consistently separated between city and non-urban areas, although the capital, Castries, contains more than one-third of the inhabitants. E Lucia’s inhabitants are mainly of Africa and combined African-European descent, with a small Indo-Caribbean community (3%). The recognized language is English; however E Lucian Creole, a French-based Creole terminology called Patois, is spoke by 95% of the inhabitants. E Lucia is also an associate of La Francophonie.
Saint Lucia features the best rate of Nobel laureates in the world. Two victors have come from E Lucia: Sir Arthur Lewis won the Nobel in Finance in 1979, and Derek Walcott obtained the Nobel for Literature in 1992. Both were given on the same day in 1915 and 1930, respectively.
About 70% of the inhabitants are Roman Catholic, affected from the days of the country’s Catholic conception and evangelization. Most of the rest fit in with other religions, such as Seventh-day Adventisms (7%), Pentecostalism (6%), Anglicanism (2%), Evangelical Christianity (2%), and the Baptist faith; in addition, about 2% of the inhabitants stick to the Rastafari action.
Despite a high emigration rate, the population is increasing by about 1.2% per year. Migration from E Lucia is mainly to Anglophone nations worldwide, with the UK having almost 10,000 E Lucian-born people, and over 30,000 of E Lucian lineage. The second most popular location for E Lucian retirees is the US, where almost 14,000 stay. North america is home to a few million E Lucians. Most other nations worldwide on the planet have less than 50 people of E Lucian.
